About this time of year, we remember what happened in the previous year and look forward to the new year. A part of remembering the past year is to learn from our successes and failures. Then we change priorities, make improvements and plan for success in the coming year.

February 2020
The Trump administration revealed a comprehensive economic and political plan called Peace to Prosperity. The economic plan was released on June 22, 2019. The international community will invest fifty billion dollars to develop commerce and infrastructure in Palestine and its Arab neighbors. The political portion was released on January 28, 2020. Israel and Palestine will divide the land into separate nations without uprooting the people. See Covenant.

On November 17, 2019, coronavirus 2 (COVID-19) was discovered in Wuhan, China. Corona is named after the "crown" of receptors that cover the virus. It spreads through cough or sneeze. As of April 2021, there are 130 million confirmed cases and 2.8 million deaths. Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Slovenia and United Kingdom have the most deaths per population. On January 31, 2020, the US Health and Human Services Secretary declared a public health emergency and then March 13, 2020, President Trump declared a public health emergency. See Coronavirus.
Purim: Feast of Chance

In 473 BC during the reign of Xerxes I of Persia [or Ahasuerus of Iran], Haman the Amalekite was the top advisor to the king. The Amalekites had an ancient feud with Israel described in Exodus 17 and 1 Samuel 15. Haman plotted to kill the Jews and cast purim or lots that chose the 14th of Adar (February/March) by chance. However, God put Queen Esther and Mordecai in place for such a time as this. See Purim.

April 2020
Each spring, we celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. By faith in His sacrifice, we are forgiven of our sin and receive the free gift of salvation. These holy days are floating holidays on the Roman calendar that link to the Passover full moon on the Jewish calendar. When we talk about prophecy, we say we do not know the time. However before the world was created, our sovereign God had a specific plan with a specific time. God revealed that plan though His Word. See Passover.

The high holy days of Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles occur in the fall. Before the three feasts, there is a time of Teshuvah. After forty days, Moses returned to God a second forty days. Teshuvah means to repent and return. While Moses was on Mt. Sinai, the people wake up, review their lives and prepare for the high holy days. They repent of their sins to others and to God and change their ways. See Teshuvah.

Jewish tradition says that a new month begins after two witnesses see the crescent new moon, testify before the Sanhedrin who declare the beginning of the new month. But Rosh Hashanah is the beginning of a new month and new civil year. The shofar sounds one hundred times during the Jewish service. Yom Teruah or the Feast of Trumpets is the Rapture day. A forty-eight year insider attempts to unseat the unconventional businessman for president. Except this crazy year has the coronavirus from China resulting in stay at home orders, businesses closed, churches persecuted, roller coaster economy and massive overreach of state governors. Add to that, Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, New York and other cities rioting anarchists appeased by incompetent mayors. Then there is prophecy.
