God uses the prophets and disciples to bring a person that is dead back to physical life. Moses and Joshua establish the Law and settle the Promised Land (Exodus 24:12). Elijah and Elisha reestablish the law during the divided kingdom. Jesus Christ and the apostles heals the sick and raises the dead to begin the new covenant of grace (Matthew 11:4-5, Luke 4:18-19, 21). During the End Times, three dead nations come back to life.

Woman of Zarephath's Son

In ~893 BC (3084 AM), Elijah is a prophet for the northern kingdom of Israel during the reign of Ahab and Jezebel. He confronts Ahab about idolatry and stops the rain (1 Kings 17:1). Elijah is fed by ravens at the brook Cherith near the Jordan river (1 Kings 17:2-4). When the brook dries up, he stays with a widow woman of Zarepath in Sidon of Lebanon (1 Kings 17:8-9). God miraculously provides meal and oil until it rains (1 King 17:14-15).

The woman's son is sick and dies. Elijah takes the son, lays him on the bed and prays. God hears his prayer and resurrects the child back to life. Elijah brings the son to his mother who recognizes the character of Elijah and his God.

[Elijah] stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again. And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived (1 Kings 17:21-22).

Woman of Shunem's Son

In ~883 BC (3194 AM), Elisah is a prophet for the northern kingdom of Israel during the reign of Joram, Jehu, Jehoahaz and Joash. A woman and her husband from Shumen in northern Samaria invite Elisha to eat and later give him a room (2 Kings 4:8, 10). They have no children, so Elijah says in a year, she will have a son (2 Kings 4:14, 16-17).

Years later, the son is in the field during a harvest and had a severe headache (2 Kings 4:18-19). They carry him home and he dies. The woman searches for Elijah. He goes to the room in the house and prays. The child is resurrected from the dead.

When Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed. He went in and shut the door upon them two, and prayed unto the Lord. Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes (2 Kings 4:32-33, 35).

Man in Elisha's Tomb

Elijah died and is buried. During Israel's war with the Moabites of Jordan, Israelis bury a man. They saw the Moabites so they put the body in Elisha's tomb. The dead man touches Elisha's bones, resurrects back to life and stood up. This story tells of the faithfulness of God. Elisha saw Elijah raptured in a chariot of fire (2 Kings 2:9-10). Scripture records eight miracles for Elijah and sixteen miracles for Elisha. This additional miracle shows the power God.

Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year. And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulcher of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet (2 Kings 13:20-21)

Jairus' Daughter

During the ministry of Jesus Christ, He brought back to life three people. Jarius was a ruler of the synagogue in Capernaum of Galilee. He came to Jesus to heal his daughter (Mark 5:22-24). They return to the synagogue and hear she died (Mark 5:35-36). Jesus clears the place except for Peter, James, John and her parents. Jesus took the girl by hand and said arise. Immediately, the girl resurrects, arose and walked. The parents and disciples were amazed.

[Jesus] took the girl by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Girl, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the girl arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment (Mark 5:41-42).

Young Man at Nain

Jesus Christ and the disciples went to Nain in Galilee and the crowd follows (Luke 7:11). People of Nain were carrying a dead man, the son of a widow. Jesus had compassion on the mother. He said, "Young man, rise." The man sat up and began to speak and the people glorified God.

Now when [Jesus] came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.  And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. And he came and touched the [coffin]: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother (Luke 7:12-14, 15).

Lazarus of Bethany

Jesus Christ is close friends with Mary, Martha and Lazarus of Betheny near Jerusalem. Martha invites Him to dinner (Luke 10:38-40, 41-42). Just before Holy Week is the story of Lazarus. Then six days before the final Passover, Mary anoints Jesus with oil (John 12:1-2, 3).

Lazarus is sick and his sisters sent a message to Jesus (John 11:1, 3). Jesus said the purpose of his sickness is not death but for the glory of God. He delays for two days (John 11:4, 6). Jesus and the disciples travel from the Jordan river to Bethany (John 11:14-15).

Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified (John 11:1, 4).

After Lazarus has been dead four days, Jesus arrives in Bethany (John 11:17). Martha meets Jesus and says if Jesus was here earlier, he could heal Lazarus. Jesus says I am the resurrection and the life. She believes He is the Messiah, the Son of God.

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if You had been here, my brother had not died. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. (John 11:21, 25, 27).

Mary goes to see Jesus and the crowd follows. Because of His love for Lazarus and the weeping of the crowd, He is overcome with emotion and weeps (John 11:33). He goes to the tomb. The Jews see the emotion of Jesus (John 11:36-37).

When Jesus saw her [Mary] weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled. Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him! (John 11:33, 35-36).

Jesus went to the tomb and said remove the stone. He prayed to God the Father. I thank You that You heard Me. Because of the people watching, they may believe You sent Me. Lazarus, come forth. (John 11:41-43). Lazarus is resurrected back to life but still bound in grave clothes. Many Jews believe (John 11:44-45).

Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou has heard me. Because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that you have sent me. And when he had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him (John 11:41-43, 44-45).

Tabitha of Joppa

Tabitha of Joppa on the coast of Judea is sick and dies. The people sent two men to get Peter (Acts 9:36-37). Peter arrives and went to the upper chamber where she laid. He clears the room, kneels down beside her, prays and says Tabatha, arise. She is resurrected back to life, opens her eyes and sits up (Acts 9:40).

Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha… And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. Peter put them all [out], kneeled down, prayed, and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up (Acts 9:36, 40).

Eutychus of Troas

Paul is on his third missionary journey at Troas in Asia Minor (Turkey) traveling to Jerusalem. As He is preaching long, Eutychus sits in a window sleeping, fell from the third floor and dies (Acts 20:7, 9). Paul lays on him and he is resurrected. The people were comforted so Paul continues preaching until sunrise (Acts 20:10-11).

There sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him (Acts 20:9-10).

Resurrection of Nations

First days are 4000 years from Adam to Christ. The last days or End Times are 3000 years (Church Age, Tribulation, Millennium) (Hebrews 1:1-2). At the end of the End Times, three countries come back from the dead. In God's plan, all nations fall and Jesus Christ reigns.

Israel

Israel is a nation for the Hebrew people that follow the Jewish religion. In 1524 BC, judges Moses to Samuel lead the Sanhedrin while Aaron's descendants are high priest. In 1057 BC, the kingdom starts with Saul, David and Solomon but in 963 BC, tribes of Israel (North) leave Judah (South). In 716 BC, Assyria conquers Israel and in 586 BC, Babylon conquers Judah because of idolatry. Israel does not exist for seventy years.

After exile, Jews are ruled by Babylon, Media-Persia and Greece but high priests lead the Sanhedrin. In 168 BC, Antiochus IV Epiphanes of Greek Syria (Seleucids) desecrates the Jewish temple which begins the 33-year Maccabean revolt. As Greek Syria weakens, Jews gain autonomy until fully independent by 134 BC. Hasmonean high priests are kings and expand territory (Israel, Jordan). In 63 BC after religious infighting, Rome rules. Sadducees control the temple and Sanhedrin while Pharisees teach in synagogues and are a minority in the Sanhedrin. In 70 AD after the Jewish revolt, Rome destroy the temple. Jews are scattered throughout the world and Israel does not exist for 1878 years.

On May 14, 1948 (5th of Iyar), the British end the League of Nations mandate and Israel is an independent nation. God sends them back home and makes them prosper.

Prophesy and say unto them, Thus says the Lord God; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel (Ezekiel 37:12).

Who has heard such a thing? who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children (Isaiah 66:8).

Rome

In 510 BC, the Rome Republic began and by 27 BC, Rome became an empire. From 286 to 395, Rome divides into east (Byzantine) and west (Rome). The western empire ends in 480 and the eastern empire ends in 1453. From 622 to 750, the green horse (Islam) expands from Spain to northern Africa to Pakistan (Revelation 6:7-8). Many leaders from Charlamagne to Napolean try to reunite Europe by war. Germany has four heads: Holy Roman, German, Nazi, Federal Republic (Daniel 7:6). In 1950, BeNeLux, France, West Germany and Italy form the European Coal and Steel Community which grows into 27 countries of the European Union, the predecessor of the Tribulation Beast. Daniel 2 describes the legs of iron (Rome) and feet of iron and clay (Revived Rome). After 1470 years, Rome is back.

This image's head was of fine gold [Babylon], his breast and his arms of silver [Media-Persia], his belly and his thighs of brass [Greece], His legs of iron [Rome], his feet part of iron and part of clay [Revived Rome]. You saw till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces (Daniel 2:32-34).

Beast
: Tribulation Government

Daniel 7 describes the feet of Daniel 2 as the dreadful and terrible Tribulation Beast. During the second half of the Tribulation, Antichrist is a man (little horn) who rules the political, religious and economic world government (10 horns/10 kings). Revelation 13 describes the Beast as a merged lion (United Kingdom), bear (Russia), leopard (Germany). One of ten kingdoms has a deadly wound. In 1945 after World War II, Germany and Europe are divided by the red horse (communism) and black horse (capitalism). On November 9, 1989 (10th of Heshvan-Noah), the Berlin Wall falls. On October 3, 1990 (15th of Tishri - Tabernacles), Germany is reunited after 45 years, healing the wound.

After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things (Daniel 7:7, 8).

I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like a leopard [Germany], and his feet were as the feet of a bear [Russia, and his mouth as the mouth [English] of a lion [United Kingdom]: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast (Revelation 13:1-2, 3-4).
