One of the most asked prophecy questions is, "Where is the United States in the Bible?" Most prophecy teachers say except "all nations" at Armageddon, Scripture is silent on America (Joel 3:2). However, the United States is in the Bible by many symbols, events, dates and results of our actions. God reveals his plan through quite specific details. Prophecy tells events of major end time countries. By the Second Coming, all nations fall so Jesus Christ reigns.

Nebuchadnezzar's Dream (Gentile Empires That Rule Israel)

In Daniel 2, Nebuchadnezzar had a dream and could not sleep (Daniel 2:1-2). He demanded the wise men tell him the dream and the interpretation or die. Daniel and his three friends were wise men so they prayed and asked God for mercy (Daniel 2:13, 18).

Nebuchadnezzar saw a great statue with five parts: head of gold, chest and arms of silver, stomach and thighs of brass, legs of iron and feet of iron and clay. A stone broke the statue into pieces and it grew into a mountain that filled the earth (Daniel 2:32-34). Daniel gives the interpretation. Babylon is the first of five regional superpower followed by four progressively weaker empires. From history, Babylon is the head of gold, Media-Persia is the chest and arms of silver, Greece is the stomach and thighs of brass, Rome is the legs of iron and Tribulation kingdom is the iron and clay. Jesus Christ is the rock that strikes the feet and broke the statue. He rules the earth during the Millennium. See Daniel 2.

The red bear is Russia, raised up on one side (Daniel 7:5). It has three ribs in its mouth which are wars (World War I, II, IV) that devour much flesh. The leopard is Germany (Daniel 7:6). It has four heads (Holy Roman, German Empire, Nazi, United Germany) and two sets of wings (East/West Germany).

The beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority (Revelation 13:2).

The dreadful, terrible, strong red beast is during the Tribulation (Daniel 7:7). It has the mouth of a lion. English is the most spoken second language. It has the feet of a bear. Russia, like the Soviets, governs as a socialist dictatorship. It is a leopard. In 1945, Germany and Europe were divided but the wounded head was healed (Revelation 13:3). The European Economic Community became the European Union. As iron mixes with clay, Germany, Russia and United Kingdom merge into world government. Ten horns are kings that give power to the Antichrist (little horn) who rules the Beast (Revelation 17:12-13). The false prophet rules the second beast, world religion (Revelation 17:3). The Ancient of Days (God the Father), gives the Son of Man (Jesus Christ) authority to rule at the Second Coming (Daniel 7:13-14).

Rise and Fall of the United States

The United States is in the Bible. Daniel describes the national symbol of the eagle which came from the lion of the United Kingdom. Time is a part of God's plan. He set the stars for signs in the sky and signs of the End Times (Genesis 1:14). Jewish feast and fast days mark many global events. The Declaration of Independence was adopted on Thursday, July 4, 1776 (17th of Tammuz - Golden Calf). That is the first of over a hundred dates that correspond to Jewish days.

End time prophecy is as simple as A + B = C. A is America. The United States is the undisputed superpower. It is the leading economy, military, government, agriculture, innovator and culture in the world. It sends more missionaries and humanitarian aid to foreign countries. It is a member of the United Nations Security Council, Group of Seven economic leaders, NATO, the nuclear nations and Middle East peace. It uses its economic and military resources to spread democracy, improve human rights and increase wealth.

C is Christ and B is events that lead to the fall of all nations so Jesus Christ reigns. We see the decline of America as China, European Union, Islam, Russia and the world wait to take our place. The Bible describes events that explain why America falls, who pushes us off the hill and who takes our place as superpower. Four horses describe a map of the world as it looks today and seven trumpets tells the rise and fall of the United States.

The closer we get to the end of the Church Age, the clearer the picture becomes.

Daniel's Dream (Empire of the Tribulation)

Daniel had a dream. Four great beasts come out of the sea (Daniel 7:2-3). Beasts are nations. The first was a lion with eagle's wings. The second was a bear with three ribs in its mouth. The third was a leopard with four wings and four heads. The fourth was terrible and strong with iron teeth and ten horns.

The majority interpretation is the beasts of Daniel 7 repeat the stature of Daniel 2. The lion is Babylon, bear is Media-Persia, leopard is Greece, and terrible beast is Rome. This view existed before St. Jerome's commentary written in ~390. Daniel 2 describes five nations while Daniel 7 describes three nations that merge into a fourth. In Daniel 8:20-21, the ram is Media-Persia and goat is Greece. Unlike other doctrines of the Bible, end time prophecy is better understood as we advance to the Tribulation.

A better interpretation is the beasts of Daniel 7 describe the feet of Daniel 2. These future kingdoms merge in the Tribulation (Daniel 7:17). The lion is the United Kingdom which speaks English (Daniel 7:4). In 1588, the British defeated the Spanish and grew into a world power. At its peak, it ruled a quarter of the world so the sun never sets on its empire. The eagle's wings are the United States. America was a colony of the United Kingdom but was torn apart by the American Revolutionary War that started on the day of the Golden Calf. The US is missing from the lion/bear/leopard (Revelation 13:2).
