In 539 BC, Cyrus the Great conquered Babylon and rules Media-Persia. Daniel prays three weeks and is given the final vision of Media-Persia and Greece. Daniel 11 is the greatest chapter of fulfilled prophecy with ~135 fulfilled prophecies in 35 verses. It covers 374 years (538 to 164 BC) with Media-Persia, Greek wars of succession and wars between Greek Syria (north) and Greek Egypt (south) for control of Syria, Lebanon and Judea. Then Daniel jumps forward to the rule of Antichrist during the Tribulation.

The End Times is the period after the cross: Church Age, Tribulation and Millennium. The Tribulation is not the end of the world and not the end of time but the end of human rule. All nations fall so Jesus Christ reigns. The Tribulation starts with the Antichrist confirming a covenant with Israel and many nations that last seven years (Daniel 9:27). The covenant includes the final borders of Israel, the status of Jerusalem and sharing the Temple Mount.

Antichrist: The Diplomat

During the first half of the Tribulation, Israel is at peace and builds the Jewish temple (Ezekiel 38:8, 11). God sends two witnesses and 144,000 Jewish evangelists for the redemption of humanity (Revelation 7:3-4). The rest of the world is impacted by World War III (China vs United State/India/Far East) which kills 1/3 of the population (~2.7 billion).

Some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed (Daniel 11:35).

Antichrist: The King of the World

The second half of the Tribulation begins begins when ten kings give power to the Antichrist (Revelation 17:12-13, 17). Antichrist rules the Beast (political system), False Prophet rules the second Beast (religious system) and they control people through the Mark (economic system) (Revelation 13:2, 11-12, 16-17). After World War III, the world leaders are really desperate for a leader that will solve the world's problems. In the 1930's, Germany collapsed because of war debt and extreme inflation. The German people needed a strong leader to get them out of their economic depression. Their choice led to World War II, ~80 million dead and a devastated Europe. History repeats itself.

What we want is a man of sufficient stature to hold the allegiance of all people, and to lift us out of the economic morass into which we are sinking. Send us such a man and be he god or devil, we will receive him.

Satan is the prince and power of the air. Since he cannot defeat God, his purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. Satan tempted Jesus Christ by offering Him the world (Matthew 4:8-9). Jesus refused but Satan offers and Antichrist accepts. However, Satan knows his time is short and Antichrist only reigns 3½ years (Revelation 12:12). Antichrist has the leadership qualities and charisma of Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Charlemagne, Napoleon, Hitler, Stalin and Mao with the demonic power of Satan. His fatal flaws are pride and godlessness (Revelation 13:4-5).

Through the power of Satan, Antichrist will do his own will. Filled with pride, He claims to be god and is worshipped as god (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). His primary desire is power and control over the world (Matthew 16:26). Antichrist is against Christ and wars against His purpose, His people (Tribulation Saints, Jews) and all that is good and true (Revelation 13:6-7, 8, 17).

The king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his estate shall he honor the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain (Daniel 11:36-37, 38-39).

Antichrist: Defender against Opposition

Antichrist has opposition from his foes. There is no honor among thieves or those in full rebellion against God. After his coronation as King of the World, World War IV begins (Ezekiel 38:3-4, 5, Matthew 24:15-16). Russian and radical Islam (Iran, Turkey, Libya) usurp Antichrist's power by attacking Israel. He fights back and defends his world kingdom. This begins the war of the north (Russia) and south (Islam) in the Middle East. Edom, Moab and Ammon (Jordan) shall escape his control as many Jews flee to Jordan. Egypt, Libya and Sudan/Ethiopia are captured.

At the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. He shall enter into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold, silver, and all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps (Daniel 11:40, 41-42, 43).

Antichrist: Last Stand at Armageddon

News from the east and north (Far East, Russia) troubles him because all the nations of the world come to fight starting at Armageddon in northern Israel. These may be the survivors from China and Russia wars that return to confront Antichrist. His palace is between the Mediterranean Sea and Jerusalem. Then all nations unite together and fight at Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:2). At the Second Coming, Jesus Christ returns to redeem Israel and destroy His enemies. The Antichrist and False Prophet are thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:19-20).

But tidings out of the east and north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly [annihilate] many. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him (Daniel 11:44-45).
