About this time of year, we remember what happened in the previous year and look forward to the new year. A part of remembering the past year is to learn from our successes and failures. Then we change priorities, make improvements and plan for success in the coming year.

Since September 2019, we have been in a possible seven year window before the final seven as God prepares Christians for heaven and the world for the Tribulation.

Coronavirus

The new year continued the old COVID pandemic. In the US, vaccines are available and most adults got shots which slowed the winter serge. The Delta variant surged during the summer. At the beginning of the year, Western Europe and US had more deaths per population but that shifted to Eastern Europe and Latin America. In the US, 607,972 or 75% of COVID deaths are 65+ compared to 678 deaths for 0-17. Most schools and business are back except some blue states are still holding on to masks and vaccine mandates. With some New York City businesses, no one may buy or sells without a vaccine card. After Australia's quarantine camps and Sweden's vaccine chips, we are too close to the Unholy Trinity. If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:13-14).

After the contentious 2020 presidential election, Democrats claimed there was no fraud despite a long history of election fraud in the past. Republican claimed the election was stolen because of COVID changes, lax absentee voting rules and millions given to election offices. Six states in question did recounts but did not verify absentee ballots. On January 6, 2021 as the US House and Senate met to count state electors, a group of Trump supporters trespassed, forcibly entered the capitol building and delayed the vote. Afterward, Congress accepted Joe Biden which makes him the possible Tribulation President. On January 13, Donald Trump was impeached by the House for incitement of insurrection but on February 13, was acquitted by the Senate.

I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this - who will count the votes, and how.

From April 2019 to June 2021, the Israeli parliament was stuck by their broken election system. March 2021 was the fourth election with thirty-nine parties running and thirteen parties winning seats. Eventually, leftist Yair Lapid and religious right Naftali Bennett formed an anti-Benjamin Netanyahu coalition. Bennett is prime minister until August 2023 and then Lapid leads. During the Biden administration, there has been no progress on the covenant but the Iran nucler deal is stills suspended.

Although it was time to end the war in Afghanistan, what could have been a safe withdrawal turned into a disaster for all the world to see. The Trump administration agreed to withdraw foreign armies if the Taliban negotiated with the Afghanistan government. The Biden administration set the August 30 deadline, withdrew military forces but left Americans and Afghanistan allies behind. On August 15, the Afghanistan government fell to the Taliban. Our European allies were taken by surprise by the withdrawal process. China and Russia are flexing their military might. War comes through weakness as prophecy is fulfilled.

Jewish Calendar

The Jewish calendar was based on observation but after Rome destroyed the temple in 70 AD, switched to a 19-year calculated cycle (Genesis 1:14). A leap year occurs 7 times in 19 years so a leap month of 30 days is added every 2 or 3 years. When comparing the Sun to dates of various years using Stellarium (400-2021 AD), the sun drifts backward from constellations about one day every seventy years. This is caused by an axial precession or wobble of the earth. The 19-year cycle does not adjust for the drift so in 2021 (year before a leap year) months are thirty days early. Then 2022 adds leap month Adar I which corrects the problem. In Nisan, when the moon is in Libra, Scorpio and Ophiuchus during redemption, the calendar is aligned correctly.

Jesus Christ was born ~7-1 BC and died ~27-33 AD, then ~2027-2033 could be the Second Coming. So the years ~2019-2026 is a possible seven year rapture window as God prepares the world for the seven years of Tribulation, within the margin of calendar errors. Since we are at the end of the Church Age, work but also watch for Jesus on the Feast of Trumpets.
