Christmas Star

2020 ended with a glimmer of hope. On December 21, there was a conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, the closest in 794 years. Jupiter was in conjunction in 7 BC with Saturn (Tabernacles) or 3 BC with Regulus (Trumpets) when Jesus was born. The Christmas star is not the Bethlehem star because the wise men visited over a year later. See First Coming.

She shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).

Tribulation

As we finish 2020, the world is one year closer to the Rapture and then seven years of Tribulation with three major wars. World War III is the 6th Trumpet between China, the United States and India (Revelation 9:13-16). World War IV is Gog and Magog when Russia and radical Islam (Iran, Turkey, Libya) attack Israel (Ezekiel 38:2-3, 4-5, 8). World War V is Armageddon when the nations fights Israel (Revelation 16:16). During the last 3½ years, Satan rules through the Antichrist and False Prophet who control the economy (Revelation 13:1-2, 4-5). The Tribulation ends with the Second Coming and Christ's thousand year reign.

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be (Matthew 24:21).

If Jesus Christ was born 7-1 BC and died 27-33 AD, Trumpets in September 2019 began a possible seven year window before the final seven years of Tribulation. God prepares the world for judgment. Christians must be ready, reap the harvest and watch for the Lord's return.

When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws nigh (Luke 21:28).

About this time of year, we remember what happened in the previous year and look forward to the new year. A part of remembering the past year is to learn from our successes and failures. Then we change priorities, make improvements and plan for success in the coming year.

Since September 2019, we have been in a possible seven year window before the final seven as God prepares Christians for heaven and the world for the Tribulation.

Coronavirus

The year 2020 started the decade off with a bang. The coronavirus began in Wuhan, China but quickly spread to become a global health and economic crisis. In the United States, there are 20,603,784 cases and 356,328 deaths. Belgium, Italy, Spain and United Kingdom have more deaths per population. In the US, 243,132 or 80% of COVID deaths are 65+ compared to 585 deaths for 0-24. Therefore, schools can open while nursing homes need protection in a bubble. New York and California have liquor stores and casinos open while closing schools and severely restricting churches. On December 14, 2020, COVID vaccines began distribution which may achieve herd immunity and stop the pandemic. See Coronavirus, Rapture Road.

If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:13-14).

Plagues & Disasters

The world had over a hundred plagues and disasters. In January, fires decimated southwest Australia. California and the west had a severe fires season. A swarm of locust started in the spring of 2019 and reached from Congo to India. Hurricanes in the Atlantic broke a record thirty named storms which thirteen became hurricanes. In August, the Port of Beirut was flattened by a massive explosion.

In the year of COVID, protesting government overreach was rebuked. Then on May 25, George Floyd died while being arrested by police in Minneapolis. Throughout the summer and fall, there were protests in 1700 places in the US. BLM and Antifi anarchist hijacked protests by instigating riots that cost over two billion. Portland had over a hundred days of protests/riots. In June, lawless thugs captured a six block section of Seattle's Capitol Hill.
 
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision (Psalm 2:2-4).

US Senate Impeachment Trial

In December 2019, the US House passed two articles of impeachment: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress related to President Trump's interference in Ukraine. The US Senate trial occurred from January 16 to February 5 with an acquittal on both counts. That was nineteen votes short for removal. Disagreeing with Congress is still not a crime.

… no future President will be safe who happens to differ with a majority of the House and two thirds of the Senate on any measure deemed by them important, particularly if of a political character.

Israel

On January, 28, 2020, the Trump Peace Plan was revealed. Israel and Palestine divides the land into separate nations without uprooting people. On the same day, a 7.7 earthquake struck the Caribbean off Jamaica which shook South Florida. On March 2, 2020, Israel's third parliament election resulted in another stalemate. Benjamin Netanyahu and Benny Gantz agreed to form a weak governing coalition. Netanyahu starts as prime minister and Gantz follows. On August 13, 2020, the Abraham Accords established Israeli peace and trade with Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan and United Arab Emirates with possibly more Arab nations. Because of COVID, Israel locked down during the high holy days of Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles. After seven months, the Knesset dissolved following a budget dispute between Netanyahu and Gantz. The fourth election is March 23, 2021.

I will gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided my land (Joel 3:2).

United Kingdom

After the December 2019 election, parliament approved the 2016 United Kingdom's withdraw from the European Union. On December 31, 2020, the transition ended and the UK left the EU with a trade deal. However, the UK will unite with Germany and Russia. See Daniel's Dream, Brexit.

The beast which I saw was like a leopard [Germany], and his feet [socialism] were as the feet of a bear [Russia], and his mouth [English] as the mouth of a lion [United Kingdom]: and the dragon [Satan] gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority (Revelation 13:2).

China Superpower

As the next potential superpower, China has a pivotal role in end time events. The Trump administration negotiated fair trade and intellectual property protections while opposing corporate espionage and unbalanced trade policy. In March 2019, Hong Kong proposed extradition laws and massive protests followed. On June 30, 2020, China took away Hong Kong's independence and imposed rules limiting autonomy and civil rights. In December, it was revealed that a Chinese spy infiltrated the office of US Representative Eric Swalwell, member of the House Intelligence committee. This and the Biden family deals reveal a massive China infiltration of US government and corporation leadership.

The sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice … Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, day, month, and year to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred million: and I heard the number of them (Revelation 9:13-16).

2020 United States Election

What started with over thirty major candidates turned upside-down with COVID. In the spring, a few primaries change dates. Political conventions went virtual with only a few speeches with a limited audience. Campaigns were muzzled with masks, social distancing, group limits, drive in rallies and car parades. Then on September 18 (Trumpets/Rosh Hashanah), Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died. Despite fierce opposition, Amy Coney Barrett became the newest justice before the election. On October 5, Trump tested positive for COVID and stayed in the hospital for three days. Most states changed voting rules. About a quarter of all voting was by mail. Because of COVID, some observation laws were ignored and poll watchers were restricted. The swing states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin were targeted for counting irregularities and a few recounts. By December, states certified election results. God put Joe Biden with Kamala Harris as the end time president. America weakens as European globalization grows toward the Tribulation. The 2020's begin the fall of all nations so Jesus Christ reigns. See Election, Tribulation.

Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changes the times and the seasons: he removed kings, and sets up kings: he gives wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding (Daniel 2:20-21).
