2025: Learn from the Past & See the Future
January 2025
About this time of year, we remember what happened in the previous year and look forward to the new year. A part of remembering the past year is to learn from our successes and failures. Then we change priorities, make improvements and plan for success in the coming year. What a difference a year makes going from global disaster to future hope. 2025 promises to be an exciting year.
Damascus, Syria: City No Longer
February 2025
Syria was first mentioned when Issac married Rebekah so they are cousins with Hebrews. Joshua conquered the Promised land and Syria bordered Israel but Solomon captured much of Syria north to the Euphrates River. At the time of Jesus Christ, Syria was an eastern Roman region. After World War I, Ottoman was divided. In 1946 Syria became an independent nation. Isaiah prophesied that Damascus will be destroyed.

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, Hamas brutally targeted civilians of Israel and other nations, shot 6000+ missiles, massacred over 1,400, raped women and took 251 hostages. Hamas is a terrorist organization that governs the Palestine territory in the Gaza Strip supported by Iran to fight proxy wars with Israel. In February 2025, war takes a turn from despair to hope for the future.
Spring Feasts: Passover, Unleavened Bread & Firstfruits

We celebrate Passion Week and Easter. Holy days move with the full moon at the beginning of spring because we are still connected to the Jewish calendar. During the exodus out of Egypt, God told the children of Israel to celebrate Passover, Unleavened Bread and Firstfruits. What were feast days for the Hebrew people are fulfilled prophesies of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. See Spring Feasts.

After the death of Pope Francis, the College of Cardinals met at the Sistine Chapel to select the new leader of the Catholic Church. On May 8, 2025 after four ballots, they chose Cardinal Robert Prevost, the first American pope born in Chicago, Illinois. Bob is now called Pope Leo the XIV. Bible prophecy tells about apostasy at the end of the Church age, the False Prophet, Mystery Babylon and Rome, Italy.
Aswan, Egypt: Nile River's Fatal Flaw

Egypt was the first great regional superpower from the time of Abraham to Solomon. Pharaohs built great cities which impacted the eastern Mediterranean. At its height, the empire ruled from Syria to Ethiopia. After ~120 years, God judged Egypt for Israel's slavery. Both Egypt and Israel fell from greatness to be ruled by foreign superpowers from Assyria to the United Kingdom. Egypt is destined for disaster because of Aswan.

New York is the economic capital of the world. The United States is the undisputed superpower. It uses its economic and military resources to spread democracy, improve human rights and increase wealth. All nations fall before Jesus Christ reigns. Through seals and trumpets, World Wars, Iraq Wars and End Wars, America in the Bible describes in symbols, events and dates of the birth, great rise and greater fall of the United States.

We are at the end of the Church Age and can see into the Tribulation. It is so close. Seven church periods are finishing, four horses are on the run and five trumpets have sounded. The United States is leader of the black horse of trade but eagle's wings are missing. Since America falls, who knocks us down and who takes our place as superpower? After the Rapture and Covenant, the next big event is the 6th trumpet known as World War III which runs through Shanghai.

This happens about a day after the astronomical new moon. But Rosh Hashanah is the beginning of a new month and new civil year. The shofar sounds one hundred times during the Jewish service. Feast of Trumpets is the Rapture day. See Trumpets.
