A strange thing happened on the way to selecting the next president. The Democrats selected an establishment politician with socialist policies. The Republicans selected an anti-establishment businessman with populist policies. The November election is a choice of experience vs personality but the next president may answer two prophecy questions:
- Which president brings us into the Tribulation?
- Is there a pre, mid or post tribulation rapture?

It is strange that of the twenty-three leading presidential candidates, the political parties would come up with the worst two nominees. 2016 was a presidential election of many firsts. This was the first time a woman was nominated from a major party and the first time a businessman was nominated. The most importantly first of 2016 is that both candidates' disapproval rating hovered around sixty percent all year. See God Revive America.

In the 2016 Presidential Election, Businessman Donald Trump upset former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Throughout the year, Clinton led the polls but Trump held all 2012 Republican states and broke through the blue wall to win Florida, Iowa, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and the 2nd district of Maine. Every state that Trump won, the incumbent senator also won which kept a Republican majority in the Senate. While this was a shock to the media, the Bible describes the next war between the US and China not Russia.
The political class and even most Christians do not understand that Donald Trump victory brings us judgment to America and the world that begins the seven years of Tribulation. See The Tribulation President?

Each election cycle, we are told the election is the most important election. Then four years later we are again told that election is the most important election. But the 2016 presidential election will be the most important election ever held, past or future.
Through the World Wars, Iraq Wars and End Wars, the Bible describes in many dramatic details the great rise and even greater fall of the United States and rise of the next world superpower. I am not saying this is the last presidential election. It is possible that we vote in other presidential elections. We are running out of time to fix our problems at home, stabilize the world and keep the peace. See The Last President?

The year 2016 was a year of political surprises. It started back in March 2015 with the reelection of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Then twenty-four major candidates declared their run for the presidency. In May 2016, the British voted to Brexit the European Union. In July, the Democrats nominated the establishment politician and Republicans nominated the anti-establishment politician but sixty percent of the people disapproved of both choices. In November, the Cubs won the World Series after 108 years so anything can happen. Finally, the brutal war of words came to surprising end with the upset election of the ultimate outsider with the unconventional campaign. It proves that someone can lose all the national polls and win the presidency. It also proves the Bible is right and we probably elected the Tribulation president.
Brexit: The United Kingdom's Referendum on the EU

On Thursday, June 23, 2016, the citizens of the United Kingdom vote on a referendum to remain or leave the European Union. Those in favor of leaving claim the EU weakens national sovereignty over trade and immigration while adding another layer of bureaucracy. Those in favor of staying claim the EU increases UK influence in trade, national security and world affairs but leaving would impact the nation's economy.
