In 2017, the Jews celebrate the double jubilee of the 1917 Balfour Declaration and jubilee of the 1967 Six Day War. Protestant Christians celebrated the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. See Reformation. Since these events happened on fifty year increments, watch for events that may occur in 2017.

Many fulfilled prophecies tell us we are at the end of the End Times. During the 2016 presidential election cycle, there were prophesies of timing and events that told which president would win and may bring us into the Tribulation. See 2016 Election. Since we are so near to the end of the Church age, one important prophecy is unfulfilled. The treaty between Israel and Palestine is required before the Tribulation begins. How would Daniel 7's Quartet on the Middle East (European Union, Russia, United Nations, United States) divide the land and fulfill the covenant?

He [Antichrist] shall confirm the covenant with many for one seven [years]: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the [Jewish] sacrifice and the offerings to cease (Daniel 9:27).

To have peace in the Middle East, there must be peace between Israel and Palestine. Ever since 1948, the nation of Israel has no defined borders recognized by other nations. Israel, the children of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob and Palestine, the children of Abraham through Ishmael and Esau, claim the land. The choice for peace is between God's plan and man's plan.

God's Plan - Nile to the Euphrates Rivers

The One-State Solution is a proposal for Israel to govern the whole area of Israel including Gaza, Judea and Samaria (West Bank). About 4000 years ago, God promised Abraham a land, nation and blessings for Jews and Gentiles. The Promised Land extended from the Nile to the Euphrates during the reign of Solomon. The area covered Israel and parts of Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.

After the Ottoman Turks lost World War I, the British Mandate divided land into Israel, Iraq and Jordan. Palestine refused their territory. Since 1967, a one-state solution has been in effect. Today, Israel rules the land while Fatah (PLO) run Palestine Authority locally controls Judea and Samaria and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas controls Gaza.

In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto your seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates (Genesis 15:18).

Man's Plan - Israel and Palestine

In 1917, the British Balfour Declaration promised a home for the Jewish people. After World War I, British ruled Palestine was occupied by Jews and Arabs. Between the World Wars, there were various Palestinian riots against the Jews and immigration into the territory.

In 1937, the Peal Commission proposed the first two-state solution, giving fifty-six percent of land to Israel of which half was desert, forty-three percent to Palestine with Jerusalem being an international city. The Jews reluctantly accepted the plan and declared independence on May 15, 1948. The Palestine refused their land and war began.

The 1949 Armistice ended with the Green Line, known today as the pre-1967 borders. After the war, Israel controlled seventy-eight percent, the size of New Jersey, and Palestine had twenty-two percent, the size of Delaware. Palestinian land was split so Egypt took Gaza and Jordan took the West Bank (Judea and Samaria). Jerusalem was a divided city. A two-state solution has been the goal of negotiators for eighty years.

Israel and Palestine Borders

After the 1967 Six Days War, Israel captured Gaza, Judea, Samaria, Golan Heights and Sinai from Egypt, Jordan and Syria. The Old City and the temple mount were taken and Jerusalem was united by Israel. In 1979, Egypt and Israel signed a peace treaty and Israel evacuated Sinai.

In the 1993 Oslo Acord, Israel and the Palestine National Authority negotiated local control for cities in Gaza and the West Bank. In 2005, Israel evacuated twenty-one settlements in Gaza and four settlements in Samaria. Forty percent of the West Bank is controlled by the PNA.

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands; And has made of one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the times before appointed, and the [borders] of
their habitation (Acts 17:24, 26).

Final Covenant

In 2000, US President Bill Clinton came closest to an Israel-Palestine peace treaty. The proposal gave Palestine all of Gaza and at least ninety-four percent of the West Bank. Israel would annex Jewish settlements gaining eighty percent of the Jewish population but then give back three percent for land swaps. East Jerusalem and the Old City would be divided by ethnic lines. Israel would own the Temple Mount's Western Wall.

There was given me a reed like a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty-two months (Revelation 11:1-2).

The Bible is clear on the final status of the Temple Mount. Gentiles own the Court of the Gentiles (Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque) and Israel owns the Court of the Jews. During the Tribulation, the third temple is built north of the Dome of the Rock. Jews start sacrificing animals but the Antichrist sits in the third temple and stops sacrifices. The covenant that divides Israel will cause the Tribulation and Armageddon.

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition [Antichrist]; Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4).
