The Jewish calendar has seven holy days that started as history but were fulfilled in Jesus Christ. In the early spring, the feasts of Passover, Unleavened Bread and Firstfruits were originally the tenth plague, the exodus from Egypt and crossing the Red Sea. These feasts were fulfilled on the same days as the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the late spring on the Feast of Weeks, God gave the Torah to Moses and the children of Israel (Jacob). This feast was fulfilled on the same day God gave the Holy Spirit to the Church. In the early fall, the high holy days of Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles occur. Before the last three feasts are fulfilled, there is a time of Teshuvah.

On the Day of Atonement, Moses descended from Mt. Sinai. During the time of the tabernacle and temple, the High Priest sacrificed a lamb, bull and two goats for individual and national sin. Originally, Israel sinned because of the golden calf but God gave Israel a second chance to repent of their sins and return back to God.

The prophecy of Teshuvah corresponds to the end of the Laodicean period of the Church Age. This is a time of alarm and awakening. God is equipping the Church for work during the End Times. Christians must be ready, reap the harvest and watch for the Lord's return. The Feast of Trumpets is fulfilled at the Rapture. God is preparing the world for the Tribulation. God gives Israel and the world a second chance to repent and return before the final Day of Atonement at Jesus Christ's Second Coming. The Feast of Tabernacles begins the earthly reign of Jesus Christ.

I [God] will take you [Israel] from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. A new heart will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you. And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God [Ezekiel 36:24, 26, 28].

First Forty Days on Mt. Sinai - 6th of Sivan to 17 of Tammuz

When Moses came down from Mt. Sinai, he saw the people worshiping a golden calf. He became angry and broke the first tables. The children of Israel (Jacob) rebelled against God and rejected God's law.

When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us. As soon as Moses came nigh unto the camp, he saw the calf, and the dancing: and his anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount (Exodus 32:1, 19).
Second Forty Days on Mt. Sinai - 1st of Elul to 10th of Tishri

After forty days, Moses cut two tablets and returned back to God a second forty days. Teshuvah means to repent and return. While Moses was on Mt. Sinai, the people had a time of spiritual preparation for the high holy days of Trumpets and Atonement. During the Hebrew month of Elul, at the end of the morning prayers, the shofar is blown. The people wake up and review their lives. They repent of their sins to others and to God and change their ways. On the last ten days during the Feast of Trumpets and Days of Awe, the spiritual focus intensifies.

The Lord said unto Moses, Hew two tables of stone like the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which you broke. And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments (Exodus 34:1, 28).
