On the Day of Atonement, Moses descended from Mt. Sinai. During the time of the tabernacle and temple, the High Priest sacrificed a lamb, bull and two goats for individual and national sin. Originally, Israel sinned because of the golden calf but God gave Israel a second chance to repent of their sins and return back to God.
The prophecy of Teshuvah corresponds to the end of the Laodicean period of the Church Age. This is a time of alarm and awakening. God is equipping the Church for work during the End Times. Christians must be ready, reap the harvest and watch for the Lord's return. The Feast of Trumpets is fulfilled at the Rapture. God is preparing the world for the Tribulation. God gives Israel and the world a second chance to repent and return before the final Day of Atonement at Jesus Christ's Second Coming. The Feast of Tabernacles begins the earthly reign of Jesus Christ.
I [God] will take you [Israel] from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. A new heart will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you. And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God [Ezekiel 36:24, 26, 28].
