On July 14, 2015, Iran and the UN Permanent 5+1 (China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States + Germany + European Union) announced the plan to limit the Iranian nuclear program. Iran agrees to restrictions on its nuclear program and allows international inspections while the P5 agrees to remove economic sanctions. On July 20, 2015, the UN Security Council approve the resolution. This peace plan may delay war but lays the groundwork for nuclear World War IV.

Nuclear Iran

If Iran follows all the rules of this nuclear agreement, it would be a first. Iran is only ten years away from having a nuclear weapon. With the current infrastructure in place, they can develop one while under the watch of the Joint Commission. Once they have a bomb, they will use a bomb. Iran's foreign policy goals are to become a regional power and "wipe Israel off the face of the earth" (Psalm 83:4-5). That is just too dangerous for Israel and other nations in the Middle East.

Sanctions

America is the leading economic power that controls a huge business, trade and financial network. When applying sanctions, allies and trading partners (China, India, Russia) break sanctions without consequences. Members of the Joint Commission are biased toward trading with Iran for economic reasons. Before the Iraq War, Iraqi officials bribed other nations for votes in the United Nations.

Nuclear Arms Race

Now that Iran is on its way to become a nuclear nation, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey plan to buy or develop their own nuclear program. Since the Middle East is the most hostile region in the world and Iran is not deterred by mutually assured destruction, a nuclear arms race will lead to nuclear war.

War Vs Peace

Instead of an agreement that prohibits Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, this weak agreement guarantees Iran will develop nuclear weapons. In 1994, there was a similar promise with North Korea. In 2006, North Korea conducted its first nuclear test. The false choice is war verses peace as if this agreement was peace. The opposite of "peace through strength" is "war through weakness." Without a strong president to negotiate a strong treaty, there is a choice between conventional war now or nuclear war later.

Options Instead of War

There are other options instead of war. The first choice is keeping strong sanctions on while negotiating a strong treaty that removes the nuclear weapons infrastructure, has anytime inspections and prohibits Iranian development of any nuclear weapons. Without that agreement, there remain targeted strikes against nuclear facilities. In 1981, Israel successfully attacked an Iraqi nuclear reactor. Many expect a preemptive strike from Israel.

Nuclear War from a Distance

One thing worse than war is a nuclear Iran. The P5+1 accepts that outcome. However, there is a difference between involvement and commitment. When this agreement fails the Permanent 5 can watch the first nuclear bomb explode from a distance while the peoples of the Middle East are directly impacted by unintended consequences

Israel vs Iran (Russian-Islamic War)

This agreement guarantees a war between Iran and Israel. In the near future, Russia leads radical Islam (Iran, Libya, Turkey) in a nuclear war against Israel. Russia, Israel and now Iran have nuclear weapons. This could happen within the next decade but in the middle of the Tribulation (Matthew 24:15-16). That is why Iran's neighbors are alarmed by this agreement.

Behold, I am against you, O Gog [Russia], the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn you back, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you forth, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia [Iran], Cush [Sudan], and Put [Libya] with them; all of them with shield and helmet (Ezekiel 38:3-4, 5).

Radical Islam: Fall of Damascus and Egypt

The next major goal of Islamic State is to take the capitals of Baghdad, Iraq or Damascus, Syria. This would be a major step forward for ISIS credibility. If ISIS takes Damascus, they would share a border with Israel. Between now and World War IV, Damascus, Syria and Aswan, Egypt will be destroyed. While America retreats from a confrontation with radical Islam in the Middle East, Israel and Arab countries will have to clean up the mess caused by our absence. With US help, Iraq and Syria took back its territory from the Islamic State in 2017 and 2019. In 2024, Syria fell to al-Qaeda splinter group HTS. Russia consolidates power with Iran and Turkey.

The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap (Isaiah 17:1).

Thus says the Lord God; Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his rivers, which has said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself. But I will put hooks in your jaws, and I will cause the fish of your rivers to stick to your scales, and I will bring you up out of the midst of your rivers... (Ezekiel 29:3, 4).
Behold, I am against you, and against your rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia. No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years (Ezekiel 29:10-11).
